What data is collected, and why
Personal data is collected only where necessary to respond to an enquiry, provide the requested private overview, evaluate a potential engagement, or understand how the website is used.
Name, email address, country and message
Submitted voluntarily to request the private overview or ask a question. The information is used to send the overview link, notify Desmond Hof of the enquiry and follow up where relevant.
Content of direct email exchanges
Retained as part of standard business correspondence when you contact office@desmondhof.com directly or reply to an automated overview email.
Pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type
Collected through Google Analytics only after you actively allow optional analytics. This information is used to understand website usage and improve the site.
Security and delivery information
Cloudflare may process technical information such as IP address, request headers and security signals to deliver and protect the website. Basic anti-spam checks are applied when the form is submitted.
Technology used on this website
The static website itself does not require tracking cookies. It stores your analytics choice locally in your browser so the preference can be remembered.
- Essential preference — the value
dh_analytics_consentis stored in local storage to remember whether optional analytics were accepted or declined. - Optional analytics — Google Analytics is loaded only after consent and may then store analytics cookies. You can withdraw that consent through “Privacy settings” in the footer.
- Forms — the enquiry form uses a hidden field and submission timing check to reduce automated spam. It does not require a marketing cookie.
You can also remove cookies and local-storage data through your browser settings.
How data is shared
Personal data is not sold, rented or shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Limited data is processed by service providers that operate the website and deliver requested emails:
- Cloudflare — website hosting, traffic delivery, security and execution of the contact form.
- Resend — delivery of the requested private-overview email and the corresponding enquiry notification.
- Google Analytics — optional website usage measurement, only after consent.
Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses should apply under that provider's terms.
How long data is kept
Enquiry submissions and related correspondence are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the enquiry and, if an engagement follows, for the duration of that engagement plus any period required by Dutch tax or administrative law. Analytics data follows the retention period configured in Google Analytics.
